STANLEY KAMINSKI On June 29, 2015 at his residence in Edmonton, AB, our beloved brother passed away at the age of 53 years. Left to cherish his memory are his sister Teresa (Branko) Carevic and brother John Kaminski (Mary), and his brother-in-law Erwin Gingera. He also leaves to mourn his passing, his nieces and nephews, Corey (Sara) Gingera, Tara (Mike) Gingera, Angela (Ryan) Battelley, Daniel (Kelli) Carevic and Ryan Carevic; great-nieces and nephews, Kayla, Payton, Lucas, Ryan, Aubrey, as well as many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Feliks and Phyllis Kaminski and his sister Donna Gingera. Stanley was born on July 14, 1961 in Winnipeg, MB. He attended Holy Ghost School, St. Paul's High School and the University of Manitoba, where he earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering. He enjoyed playing football starting with the St. Paul's Crusaders, Winnipeg Hawkeyes, U. of M. Bisons and finished with the St. Vital Senior Mustangs. Stan still had a great passion for the game (Go Blue!) and loved going across the country to attend Grey Cup festivities wherever they were held and spending time with old friends yet making new friends along the way. He also enjoyed watching hockey, playing golf and fishing (hoping to catch the big one). He was a man with a kind and generous heart, who could always be counted on to be there to lend a hand or support for anyone who needed it. Stan will be missed by all who knew him. Prayers will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg MB. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue, Winnipeg, MB with an Oblate Father officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stan's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Eternal Rest Grant unto Him O Lord 204-586-8044

  • I had the opportunity to play football with both Stan and John. My condolences to the entire family. Stan exemplified everything that was good in a teammate. A great player, a great student and a great friend. He was everything that the old "north end" was all about. Hard working, loyal and tough as nails. You will be missed. - Posted by: Mike Dragojevic (friend and teammate) on: Jul 19, 2015

  • Stan was a fun and loveable guy. We remember him best from his days as a member of the Polish boy scouts "ZHP...troop Gdansk". He always brought his sense of humour when performing in camp fire skits. Stan loved to play camp football and was usually picked first when we selected our teams. He was a great friend and Stan will never be forgotten by those who knew him. "Czuwaj" - Posted by: Ted, Henry and Mark Wojcik (friends ) on: Jul 11, 2015

  • To the Kaminski family, sorry for your loss, Stan will be missed but never forgotten as a friend, teammate and brother. May he rest in peace - Posted by: Tom Hrechkosy (Hawkeyes & Bison Alum) on: Jul 10, 2015

  • I can't believe you are gone Stan. My brother Adam and I are reminiscing about those endless summers in the early '70's hanging out with you and your brother John. Organizing street hockey games, playing football, building model kits, and bicycle riding. Man, it was like we lived on on our bikes! Every day we would be exploring new neighbourhoods, organizing road races with some of the neighbourhood kids, just always riding. The summer of '75 was quite memorable when the neighbourhood guys started building wooden push go-carts and drag racing them. You and Adam were undefeatable with you pushing his cart . You earned the name HEMI Stan that summer. Those were some of the best times of my life. Rest in peace my friend. - Posted by: Tom Nitychoruk (Childhood friend) on: Jul 10, 2015

  • I was a Mustang so having to play against Stan as a Hawkeye was not something I looked forward to doing but I really enjoyed our time as a Bison. Stan always worked hard while on the field but always had time for a laugh. It was great meeting up with you and the boys at some of the Grey Cups. Always a good time at Touchdown Manitoba. I know you will be up there cheering on our Blue and Gold. Rest in peace my friend. - Posted by: John Milani (Football buddy) on: Jul 10, 2015
