I am saddened by your passing. We only met very few times. But you always impressed me as a kind man. I have seen your generosity to your family and it is impressive. Your dedication and love for your grandchildren is inspiring. Your passion for soccer and cheering for the Netherlands, happy when they won, armchair coach when they lost. A true fan. My condolences to those that you leave behind, they will have many cherished memories. Oma, take care. Opa, Go in peace. Joe - Posted by: Joe Hardiman (Friend) on: Jul 10, 2015

A very quiet, kind man, especially to a rookie at #11, sent to help him with a quick repair. He made a lasting impression as we talked of Holland during the war. - Posted by: mike robson (firefighter) on: Jul 10, 2015

I was extremely saddened to hear of your passing. You were a big part of my life for the past 35 years. To me you were my second father and I was proud to call you Dad. I always looked forward to spending time with you and Mom whenever possible. I'm saddened that I cant be there to share in the memories and stories about you with others who loved you. I miss you dearly but I am at peace knowing you are in a much better place. Thank you for your kindness, generosity and time. Finally, thank you for making me feel like I was part of your family. I love you. Dian XXOO - Posted by: Dian Hardiman (Close friend for over 35 years. ) on: Jul 09, 2015

We are so sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories growing up in Winnipeg and the many fun times our families had together. My parents first met Wil and Jake in the Immigration Hall on Higgins in the 1950's and they have been good friends ever since. Such a journey they travelled together. There was always laughter when they got together. May you find peace with your loss in the days to come. Franca and Bob. - Posted by: Franca Matheson (Family friend) on: Jul 09, 2015
