VIVIANE LOUISE MARIE ROUTHIER (nee ROY) 1932 2015 Viviane L. Routhier of Morden, MB, passed away in her home surrounded by her family, on Wednesday July 8, 2015 at the age of 83 years. Viviane was born in Vonda, SK, daughter of the late Napoleon and Delia (Daignault) Roy. She moved with her parents to Sandy Bay, MB and received her education at Saint Charles Catholic School, in Winnipeg. Her first teaching job was in Ste. Amelie, MB. On October 6, 1956, she married Hector Routhier and so began their life together. Mom and Dad eventually settled in Crane River where they owned and operated Crane River Trading Post. Mom wore many different hats while living in Crane River. Busy was the norm in our household. Mom's day started early each day when she woke up the children for school and made lunch and breakfast for everyone at 6:00 a.m. She worked in the general store and was the post mistress. She also enjoyed her late night walks to the barn to check on the new calves and lambs. It was not uncommon to awake in the morning and find new born lambs in our bathtub. Lastly, Mom was a diligent bookkeeper. Accounting was a passion for her and every cent had to be accounted for and recorded. As busy as Mom was she always found time to read and to record family history. She was predeceased by her husband, Hector Routhier (1988) and her parents, Napoleon and Delia Roy of Dauphin, MB. She is survived by her four sons, Albert Routhier and his wife, Susan (Liu) of Ottawa, ON, Dennis Routhier and his wife, Cheryl of Winnipegosis, MB, Maurice Routhier of Crane River, MB, Gerald Routhier and Karen (Kernot) of Winnipeg, MB; three daughters, Diane and her husband, Bill Wicks of Morden, MB, Michele Routhier and her husband, Alphonse Perreaux of Brandon, MB, Suzanne and her husband, Cameron Schulz of Morden, MB; three brothers, Louis Roy and his wife, Elizabeth of Brandon, MB, Paul Roy and his wife, Lillian of Christensen Beach, MB, Daniel Roy of Vernon, BC; three sisters, Lorielle and her husband, Earl Downey of Kelowna, BC, Angela and her husband, Ray Elke of Christensen Beach, MB, Sylvia and her husband, Jerry Secord of Okotoks, AB. A Prayer service will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the Wiebe Funeral Chapel, 1050 Thornhill St. in Morden, MB.
