BETTY WOHL On June 29, 2015, our beloved mother, Betty Wohl, passed away peacefully at Riverview Health Centre. She is survived by sons, Howard (Winnipeg) and Sandy (Vancouver); brother Jerry (Gloria); sister-in-law Kerry; grandchildren, Marnie (Jeremiah) (Toronto), Michael (Amanda) (Ottawa) and Barry (Dara) (Boston); and great-grandchildren, Elorah, Serafina, Layla and Asher, nieces, nephews and cousins. Betty was predeceased by her husband Joe, after over 50 years of marriage; by her parents, Morris and Jennie Moscovitch; her in-laws, Harry and Molly Wohl; an infant son, Murray Sheldon; and her brothers, Walter and Earl. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were Marnie Wohl, Michael Wohl, Barry Wohl, Jeremiah Bennett, Marcy Dayan, Danny Moscovitch, Darrel Kilburn, Ivor Berman, Gino Braha, Sheldon Forgan, Harold Swick and Jim Davis. As a teenager, Betty was a member of the Jewish Community Choir, Young Judea and the Jewish Girl Guides. As an adult, she was active in the Pioneer Women's Organization. Joe and Betty were lifetime members of Bnay Abraham Synagogue, where she was the first President of the Sisterhood and where she held various Executive positions; for over 30 years, Betty sent out donation cards. Mom and Dad contributed to many charities. Mom and Dad loved to travel, open their home and Holiday table to family and many friends. Mom loved to knit, create needlepoint pictures and play Mah Jong (over 50 years). She often said that her greatest pleasure was the joy she derived from her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mom was an independent woman with an active mind who loved to read and do daily jumble and crossword puzzles, as well as watch her favourite game show, Wheel of Fortune. Mom was a caring, sharing and giving woman who never spoke a bad word about any person or situation, even when her health began to fail. A big thank you to all our family and friends who loved our mother and to the staff at Riverview for their caring and kindness. Donations may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation of Manitoba.

My very deepest condolences to you, my old friend, Howard, and your entire family. I had just passed your old home the other day, and remembered same as a second home to myself. I remembered that we were never permitted to make noise around 3:00 P.M., since Mom would always be taking a nap around that time. Your mom will forever be remembered by me as a most refined and gracious lady, and always asked about others. May her memory comfort you and your entire family, not only now, but likewise henceforth. - Posted by: Harry J. Rosenbaum (family friend) on: Jul 13, 2015

My condolences to Sandy, Howard and family. I often met your mother on the bus. We would catch up on different things such as family. It was always a nice visit. - Posted by: Lois Offerman (Lois Offerman (nee Hershfield)) on: Jul 12, 2015

My condolences to you, Sandy and Howard and your families. I remember coming to your parents' home, where your mom was ever the gracious hostess, always so considerate and always asked how my Mom, sisters and family were. May the memory of your Mom comfort you at this time. - Posted by: Maxine Zabenskie (family friend) on: Jul 11, 2015
