Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH HEPBURN GRIFFITH (FINNIE) August 16, 1921 - July 12, 2015 On Sunday, July 12, 2015 the world lost an amazing woman. She was a sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. Betty passed away in her 94th year, and left us to join her husband Clayton - the love of her life. Betty was born in Elphinstone, MB, on August 16, 1921 where she grew up on the family farm with three brothers and five sisters. Betty moved to Deloraine, MB, where she worked with her brother Alex and his wife in their hair dressing shop. Betty met her future dancing partner, Clayton Griffith, who played in a band. Betty and Clayton were married August 17, 1940 in Waskada, MB. They had four children: Wayne (Ena), Karen (Jim), and twin girls Arlene (Mike) and Lynn (Murray), six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Betty and Clayton started their life together in Waskada, and later moved to Melita in August of 1960. Betty was predeceased by her husband Clayton (February 1986) and is survived by her sister Agnes Coutts of Winnipeg. Mom had a gift for listening to others and made everyone feel at home. We are all so proud of her for the life she lived and the example she gave. A Private graveside service will be held at Melita, MB, Saturday, July 18, 2015. Thank you to Dr. Zoppa and the nurses at Selkirk Hospital surgical ward for their kindness and compassion. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
