WALTER MUSICK January 4, 1924 - July 12, 2015 Peacefully, with family by his side, Walter passed away on July 12, 2015 at the Victoria Hospital. Walter will be deeply missed by Janet, his wife of 65 years, children Donna (Paul) and Bill, and grandchildren Christina and Justin. He is survived by his brother Myron and Irene Musick, brother-in-law Bernie and Annie Nedilenka, sisters-in-law, Roseanne Cooper, Doreen Musick, Ida Shaw, Pat and husband Ted Foster, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents Wasyl and Maria Muzyka, father-in-law Peter and mother-in-law Stanny Nedilenka, brothers Bohdan and wife Florence Musick, Boris Musick, Elenore and Neil Perchelak and Mary and Ken McTrowe. Upon his graduation with a BSc. (Honours Chemistry and Geology) from the University of Manitoba, Walter was engaged as a research chemist with Sinclair and Valentine Inks in Toronto. Shortly thereafter he was assigned to Montreal as Plant Manager for the purpose of establishing an ink manufacturing operation. Upon his return to Toronto for further research, he published a scientific paper "Printing Ink Raw Materials, their Properties, Function and their Relationship" which lead to his assignment to design and have built a 100,000 square foot ink manufacturing plant. After having invented a process described as "Spherical Agglomeration" he formed "Microcolour Dispersions" to manufacture products for improving the production of printing inks. After the sale of Microcolour, Walter was hired to turn around money losing Gibb Manufacturing, a sheet metal and wire products manufacturing company, which upon restoration to profitability, was sold. He then returned to Sinclair and Valentine Inks as Vice-President and General Manager of the Toronto Manufacturing plant. Upon his early retirement he returned to Winnipeg to join his daughter and family. During this early retirement he was invited to launch an ink manufacturing plant in Winnipeg for Lester Inks and Coatings. After three years and a successful launch he retired for the final time. In the last 16 years he suffered with Myeloid Peripheral Disorder. We would like to thank Dr. Shojania and Dr. Dao, Hematologists at the St. Boniface CancerCare. Also thanks to Dr. R. Davey and Dr. Wm. Partyka at St. Boniface Clinic and Dr. Mellon at the Manitoba Clinic. We also thank our family and friends for their loving support. In compliance with Walter's wishes, no formal Funeral Service will be held. A private family gravesite service has taken place. 204-782-3541
