Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY KAAKE July 29, 1924 - June 4, 2015 Mary Kaake entered eternal rest at her home in Brandon, MB, with her family at her side. Mary was the only child of Nicholas and Michalena (Millie) Korostil (nee Rohatinsky). She enjoyed attending school at Two Creeks School near Togo, SK. She had a lifelong passion for learning, which she passed on to her children. Mary married Andrew Pronchuk, with whom she had four children. They farmed in the Renwer area and operated a General Store in Minitonas before moving to the community of Bowsman, MB, where their family was raised. She was a very dedicated mother and proud grandmother, who delighted in her family's achievements. Mary was a very talented, creative person and was respected for her hairdressing and tailoring abilities. Mary had an ear for languages and provided translation services to many persons of the Slavic Heritage. She was active in the St. Vincent Pallotti Roman Catholic Parish and was a 4-H Club sewing leader for many years. In her middle years, she married Larry Lafrance, with whom she travelled and lived in the U.S.A. and western Canada, operating their business, World of Gem Stones. In her later years, she married Reginald Kaake and lived several years of retirement in Winnipeg, prior to her moving to Brandon with her family. Mary always enjoyed music and all types of dancing and taught her children to dance at a young age. She developed a keen interest in oil and acrylic painting and became an accomplished artist. Her paintings remain a constant reminder of her creative talent and her pleasure in all things beautiful. Mary enjoyed making new friendships and giving a helping hand wherever she saw a need. She is remembered for her cheerful, kindly disposition and young heartedness. Mary is survived by her four children: Shirley Keith, Bernice Holowachuk, Ed Pronchuk, Glenis Pacak; her seven grandchildren: Morley Keith, Lisa Lelonde, Katrena (Jamie) McGrigor, Tiffany (Mark) Barton, Doug (Susan) Thompson, John (Clare) Pacak, Catherine Pacak; and 10 grandchildren: Megan and Riley Keith, Kaelyn Lelonde, Fox McGrigor, Oakley and Sebastian Barton, Trinity and Aurora Thompson, Michael and Alexis Pacak, in addition to several dear relatives and friends. Mary is predeceased by her parents, Millie and Nick Korostil, and her husbands. Mass of Christian Burial was held June 10, 2015 from St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church - Kamsack, SK, with Fr. Franklin Emereura officiating. Interment followed at the Riverview Cemetery - Kamsack, SK. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to Wolkowski Funeral Service Ltd. - Kamsack, SK Those who so desire may leave notes of condolences for the family by visiting Wolkowski.ca
