ROSE MARY CHESTLEY Peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Maples Personal Care Home, Rose Mary Chestley, aged 90 years of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Rose was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan on October 8, 1924. She attended Normal School in Saskatoon and taught grades 1 to 12 in one room school houses in Saskatchewan. She met her husband Joe while teaching and they were married in 1946. They lived in various places in Saskatchewan until moving to Winnipeg in 1968. Joe built Rose a cabin at Spruce Sands near Gimli in 1977. She loved her life there and remained there until Joe's passing in 1985. Rose was a loving wife and mother and was well known for her Ukrainian cooking and sewing skills. She leaves to mourn her children Eleanore, Donald and wife Susan, Glenn and wife Valerie, Gwen and husband Ted Deresh, Doug and wife Darlene. Grandchildren; Jeff and Lenora, Kevin and Melina, Jaclyn and Hayley, Chris and Mandy, Brett, Ashleigh and Joelle, Taeyo and Seylene. Great-grandchildren; Ben and Will, Alexa, Addison and Zoey, Joseph and Alexander. Cremation has taken place. There will be no formal service as per Rose's request. A celebration of life for family will be held Sunday, July 19. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or the charity of your choice.
