EFFIE NEUBAUER July 21, 2005 Another five years have whistled by and we sit and ponder the last 10 years without you here. The new arrival is now nine years old and has picked up your love for Lacrosse. We wish you could've been here to see him make the team and play each game with heart and determination. Thanks to two of your old friends, Gord Pottinger and Harry Nightingale, their determination to help confirm a lacrosse number so a family tradition could carry on, now Cayden is proudly wearing your #2. What we wouldn't have given to hear your cheers and advice ring in his ears but we know you live on in each pass of that ball. High school graduations have seen our family four times now; each of those young tikes has entered a new phase of life, independence and self-growth. The passion for fire- fighting looks like it may carry on as young men think of their own career paths. The last of our little girls are grow- ing into beautiful feisty little ladies, you'd be proud. Ten years may have passed but not a moment goes by that we don't miss you and wish we could hear your chuckle or that famous quick whistle and directional finger flicker gesture which we all cherish. Stories will forever be re-told from friends and family as we sit down to gather, for you may not be here to see but each of us feels you close in their hearts. If storytelling is half of what it is up there as it is down here, I can almost see you pointing to your chest boasting "those are my kids and my grandkids and those ones there, they're my great grandkids". We love you forever and always
