RICHARD MELVIN DEMMANS June 19, 1958 - July 21, 2015 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, brother and grandfather. Richard Melvin Demmans, at the age of 57. He is predeceased by his father, Melvin Stanley and mother, Virginia Bear (Deschaumbeault); and nephew Ricky Abdilla. He leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Lisa (Jeff), Michelle (Stephen), Ewart (Meloney) and Tricia (Nic); sisters Charlene, Joanne, plus many half siblings from Saskatchewan. He also leaves his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Brooke, Montana, Brendan, Taylor, Terrence, Avery, Ocean, Cameron, Keegan, Meeka, Miley and Ewart Jr., girlfriend Ila, nieces and nephews, extended family and his block family. Throughout the years, Rick made many friends. He could always make people laugh, no matter what struggles in life he went through. He will always be remembered for his kindness and love that he had for his family. Honorary pallbearers Ewart Demmans, Michael Gordon, pallbearers Nic Chornoby, Stephen Cameron, Jeff Pirrie, Jeff Rupert, Aaron Gordon, Kurtis Peters A wake service will be held on Sunday July 26, 2015 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 pm. with an interment service to follow, Monday July 27, 2015 at 10:00 am. All arrangements held at Aboriginal Funeral Chapel 724 Selkirk Avenue.

  • Today marks three years that you had entered heaven, theres not a single moment that has passed by that I do not think of you. Somedays I think it gets better but it never really does because I think of your face and your laugh and it floods with memories and tears. I remember when I use to be so upset if you didn't take me bike riding every time you had to go to the store for Nanny so you would double me in the front and I was the happiest girl ever.I miss you more than ever but I know that you are always with me.
