SALLY J. WILDE
Born: Jul 02, 1953
Date of Passing: Jul 06, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySALLY J. WILDE It is with profound sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Sally Wilde on July 6, 2015 in Winnipeg. Sally is survived by her mother Eleanor and sisters Susan (Dennis) and Myrna (Ted). "I-yi" is survived by nephews Brad (Laura) and Scott (Carlie), and great-nephews Ben and Jasper. Sally is also survived by dearest friends Joy Szafron and Janice Baynton, plus many other relatives and friends in Winnipeg and Brandon. She was predeceased by her father Ken, brother Michael, and Aunt Bea. Sally was born in Brandon on July 2, 1953 and moved to Winnipeg in her early 20s where she had a very successful career at Richard Wayne Insurance. She moved to Kelowna for one year but her roots were in Manitoba and Winnipeg and she returned in May of this year. Sally's true passion was baking and she enjoyed giving most of it away to family, friends and co-workers. She kept everything meticulous and also loved working in her gardens. She was a beautiful, caring person and a gentle soul and will be sadly missed by her relatives and friends. She will always remain with us in our hearts and in the many beautiful memories she created with us. Wherever Sally's spirit has landed we know it will be a much happier and very beautiful place. As per Sally's request cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral or service. There will be a private family service at a later date.

I write this with great sadness...I will dearly Miss SalGal as I used to greet her when I called or wrote her emails and my heart goes out to her family. Being close friends with Myrna, we all seemed to be together much of the time over the years and I felt a sisterly bond with both of them. Many good funny memories from Brandon and Clear Lake days. With living away from Manitoba many years, it was always fun to re-connect with Sally on my visits home, sometimes alone for talks and walks or with Myrna or her gang of friends from Brandon at The Keg for Hometown Friends DateNight. Sally made the effort to keep in touch with her friends and cared about their lives. Sally and I had baking in common and I remember putting extra special care into making her a wicked rich 3 layer chocolate cake for her 60th and had lots of laughs with friends and Eleanor in Brandon. Sally was authentic with people and a sincere friend, always willing to chat, offer support and valuable and truthful advice.....and she did help me on our move back to Winnipeg, took time to box up some kitchen and decor items to leave for us and referred me to her job, which I worked at for a year in her absence while in Kelowna. Sally was gentle and caring, but I loved it when she got cheeky and gave us her grin. She was very witty! I cared about Sally, she touched my heart, she was loving and real ....and she will be missed....remembered always. - Posted by: Dianne Snydal (Friend) on: Sep 09, 2015

I was deeply saddened when I learned of Sally's sudden passing. Sally was a very dear friend and we shared many happy times. I met Sally when I went to work at Richard Wayne Insurance. She was a joy to be around and always gave 100% at work, even doing things like decorating the office for different occasions and bringing "goodies" to celebrate each event. My heartfelt condolences go out to her mother Eleanor, her sisters Susan and Myrna and their families at this very difficult time. In loving remembrance, Joyce Benedictson - Posted by: Joyce Benedictson () on: Aug 11, 2015

We always enjoyed seeing Sally with her wonderful happy smile. Myrna and Sally completed each other and they had such joy and humour that only close sisters share! I clearly remember her birthday party with family and friends in Kelowna, her amazement at her beautiful delicious birthday cake that she would appreciate being the baker she was. We shared recipes, laughs and thoughts! We miss you more than you can imagine and we share the sadness and at times the unbearable sorrow with your passing. You are with my brother now, take care of each other! Love Susan and Oscar - Posted by: Susan and Oscar Faoro (Friends of the Wilde sister and their mother Elenore) on: Aug 01, 2015

The Bingham Family loved Sally. Her kindness, her laugh, her love for everyone and everything. Seeing her car drive up Whitehead Crescent and Eleanor waiting in the carport or in the window for her arrival. You never knew what was going to be in the trunk. Flowers, baking, groceries, Winnipeg dirt. Her trunk was always full. Sally was a wonderful cook. Her muffins, squares, cookies. She loved to share. Sally was full of energy. She loved 32 Whitehead and worked hard to keep it looking beautiful. She took great pride in all her hard work. Sally was the kindest person. She would do anything to help you. Always with a smile and her beautiful laugh. Our hearts go out to everyone who loved Sally. She will be missed. Anyone that knew her loved her. She will never be forgotten. - Posted by: The Bingham Family () on: Aug 01, 2015

In 1974 we moved into the house next door to the Wildes on Whitehead Crescent in Brandon. Over the years I got to know what a beautiful person Sally was and can't believe she is gone. It was evident what a loving and caring relationship she had with her family, and how important she was to them. I am so sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Karen O'Hara (Josephson) (Neighbour) on: Jul 31, 2015

From the time you were a baby I pushed in your stroller, you remained in my mind as one of the cutest and sweetest girls I have known. I readily would have adopted you as my little sister! Your bright smile and effervescent spirit ignited an enthusiasm at every family gathering, be it big or small. Your engaging spirit will remain with us forever and we will be reminded of it every time we see a butterfly. Rest in peace, dear cousin. Sally was one of our group growing up in Brandon. I lost touch, but was happy to see her last summer when a few of us met up in Kelowna. My thoughts and prayers go to her family and friends who are grieving the loss of such a lovely, kind lady. - Posted by: Dauna (friend) on: Jul 26, 2015

Sally brought joy to every party, set our cleaning bar a "little" higher and was thoughtful and compassionate. No one can have as many friends as Sally without being special. I was one of the lucky ones to call her a friend and will always treasure her for recently comforting me though a difficult time. - Posted by: Allison (Friend) on: Jul 26, 2015

I was deeply saddened to learn of Sally's passing. I have known her since we were growing up in Brandon in the 1960s, beginning at the old YMCA. Sally was a 1960s Brandon Girl and attended our triennial Gatherings, where we would Rock, Roll, and Remember! A candle and Sally's Nametag will be placed on the special Remembrance table at our next Gathering in 2016. Sally is with us still...in spirit. To Mrs. Wilde, Susan, and Myrna: May your many memories of Sally bring you comfort at this time. I hope it helps somewhat to know that others are keeping you and your families close in thought. Kindest personal regards, Donna - Posted by: Donna Hogeland (Brandon, Manitoba) (Friend from Brandon in the 1960s) on: Jul 25, 2015
