Date of Passing: Jul 27, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJANET MARGARET DUNN October 5, 1945 - July 27, 2015 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Janet Margaret Dunn age 69. Born in Essex, England, she immigrated to Canada in 1969 with husband and two small boys. Janet lived in: Leduc, Alberta, Richmond, and Abbotsford, BC and for the last 13 years in the Elmwood area of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her parents Alec and Violet Termehr of Abbotsford, and Malcolm and Bobby Dunn of Edmonton. She is survived by her two sons: Steven (Kathy) and Terence; grandchildren: Mathew (Jenessa), Shannon and Jay, plus great-grandchildren: Thadius and Alice. She will be missed as well by her sister Christine Chandler (Stan Butcher), nephews Duncan (Debra) and Gavin (Jennifer), plus her former husband Richard Dunn. Jan will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother and a dedicated helper of those in need. She will be missed by the many people she touched, most recently those in the Riverwood Church community. Jan had a wonderful way with children; she was a very creative person who could turn any setting into a place of calm, Oriental beauty. A memorable event for her was a trip to China in 2001 where she was able to climb a section of The Great Wall of China. A memorial service will be held at Riverwood Community Church, 257 Riverton Ave., Friday, July 31 at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Jan to Riverwood Church Community to two programs that were close to Jan's heart: Community of Hope or the Swaziland Africa Mission.

i just returned from 5 weeks in China so this is my first opportunity to write. (There are many Great walls in China, internet being one). One of my great regrets is that for all of our lives Jan and I we're not able to spend more than a few brief visits together. My hope is that will change in heaven. I am glad to know that she too had a love for China, my second home. I pray that as time goes by that everyone left behind will remember the good times and learn to live their very best lives to honour Jan Termehr Dunn. I know how much you will be missed. - Posted by: Jan Termehr Dion (cousin) on: Aug 06, 2015

Jan and I looked after a friend of ours while she was ill with terminal cancer. We both helped each other through looking after our friend and her husband. We really had some great memories being creative to keep our friends spirits up. We even walked all around Elwood to get different colors of fall branches with different fall colored leaves because we couldn't get her outside to see them. Jan will always be remembered for her caring heart and beautiful smile. - Posted by: DEBBY Sillito (Friend) on: Jul 31, 2015
