WOODROW RAYMOND WILSON (WOODY) 1926 - 2015 It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Woodrow Wilson (Woody) who passed away on July 28, 2015 at Meadowood Manor. Dad leaves behind his loving children Linda (Donnie), Bruce (Gisele) and Karin (Frank); grandchildren Michael (Kirsten), Nicole (Devin) Alyssa and Olivia and great-grandchildren Liam and River as well as numerous nieces and nephews but especially Lorne (Pauline) who have always been so close to us. He leaves behind his step-children Judy and Ken, Bill and Pat, Darlene and Rob, John and step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dad also leaves his very special Meadowood Manor friend, Jackie. Dad was predeceased by our Mother, Miriam in 1991; his second wife Pearl in 2009; son-in-law Bill Landiak in 2002 and beloved grandson Jason Wilson in 2000. He was also predeceased by his parents Elizabeth and William and all of his brothers and sisters, Elizabeth, Charlotte, Nellie, Joe, Charlie and Willie. Dad was born in Winnipeg in 1926, the youngest of seven children. He served in the Royal Winnipeg Rifles in the Second World War and upon returning home was employed by Burns Foods until his retirement in 1988. He was very proud of his 46 years of service with Burns. He married Mom in 1948 and together they raised three grateful children. They were married for 43 years. Dad was a Master Mason with King Edward Lodge GRM Ancient Free and Accepted Masons and was raised in 1950. He was a member in good standing until his passing. Dad loved his family very much and had an incredibly kind heart which was apparent to all who knew him. He had a love of animals, birds, gardening and music. It was music that helped him during the last years. Ask anyone who knew him, he was always singing. It gave him peace and was beautiful to listen to. He also had a spirited sense of humor and could always make you laugh. Very special thank you to Dr. Darcy Johnson, the wonderful and compassionate nurses, aides and staff at the Meadowood Manor whose care and professionalism to Dad and our family was outstanding. Flowers are gratefully declined. Instead, we ask that you simply do something nice for someone you care about and do it as a tribute to our Dad. That would make him very happy. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre 3030 Notre Dame Ave (across from Brookside Cemetery) with Reverend Scott MacAuley officiating. Webcasting may be viewed at neilbardalinc.com the day of the service. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

  • I was so sorry to hear of Uncle Woody's passing. I remember all the good times we had at the lake together. I remember as a little girl running around with Penny and Taffy your wonderful dachounds. Uncle Woody was always so happy.
