DONALD ERNEST BOGUSKI On Wednesday, July 29, 2015, Don peacefully left us for heaven with family at his side. After many years of health challenges his heart could no longer sustain such a firm determination to live. He is survived by his wife Theresa; children Jennifer (Marc St. Laurent) and Jaime (Jeremy Angus); grandchildren Luc, Mila, Elena and Kenzie; mother Mary, sister Isabel (Wally Lukie), brothers Lorne (Linda), and Wally (Barb) along with a host of dear family and friends. Don was predeceased by his father Walter in 2002. Don was born in Dauphin, Manitoba on September 9, 1945 and enjoyed a happy childhood growing up on the farm with siblings, many cousins and friends. He married Theresa Kuzyk on July 8, 1972 and they settled in Roblin. They raised their two daughters in a welcoming, loving home that was a center of activity for all of the neighborhood kids. Don had a 33 year teaching career at Roblin's Goose Lake High School encouraging his love of science with many students. He was a favorite teacher to many and also enjoyed coaching volleyball and basketball. Nothing made him more proud than to see his students pursue careers in the sciences. Into retirement he continued to teach part time in Russell and at St. Vladimir's College in Roblin. He was also a serious sports fan following the Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bombers religiously and was an avid golfer and curler. Don served as a long-term dedicated member of the Roblin Credit Union board and Knights of Columbus. Don loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and riding his ATV in the Duck Mountains and at Lake of the Prairies. He also enjoyed picking wild mushrooms and berries, making wine and jam, gardening and maintaining a beautiful yard with his wife Theresa. Don enjoyed spending time with family and friends whenever there was an opportunity. In his last ten years, he enjoyed many winter vacations with family to warm destinations such as Hawaii and Mexico. Throughout his battles with cancer and heart failure, he stayed positive, often smiling and enjoyed every moment with family and especially his beloved grandchildren. Nobody could have asked for a better husband, father, brother and friend. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, August 3, 2015 at the Holy Redeemer Ukrainian Catholic Church in Roblin, Manitoba. The family wishes to thank Dr. Maksymiuk and Shelley, Dr. W. Czarnecki and Gail Bedosky, and Roblin Hospital doctors and staff for their longtime care and support. We also thank the professional and sensitive staff at the Victoria Hospital who provided exceptional care to Don in the last few weeks. His kind, gentle nature and positive attitude were admired by all his caregivers. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Dad's memory to CancerCare Manitoba or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Family and friends are invited to sign the online condolence book at Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Services is in care of arrangements, 1-204-937-2215.
