Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON JOHN YAKIMOW July 13, 1939 - July 29, 2015 With family by his side, Gordon Yakimow passed away peacefully at Seven Oaks Hospital on July 29, 2015 at 76 years of age. He will be remembered by his son Jason; sisters Annette (Don) Gordon, Rosemarie (Barry) Klym and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his wife Sylvia, parents John and Nellie Yakimow, Uncle Andrew Yakimow and Brother Ernie Yakimow. Gordon grew up on the family farm in Allegra, MB working alongside his father and uncle on the farm. In 1964, he met his bride Sylvia and they married in 1965. Gordon studied welding at Red River College and was employed at Presco & C.N.R. until his retirement. Gordon was passionate about snowmobiling and a proud volunteer of the Manitoba Boganeers and Mooswa Lake Snowriders clubs. He could always be found on the trails every winter weekend with his good friend Ray and many others. He loved his ski-doo's and never missed a chance to challenge the guys to a drag race. Gordon never missed the annual March CPTC races in Beausejour where he would cheer No. 39 on! His summers were spent at the cottage at Winnipeg Beach where he hosted many barbecues for family and friends. He also loved taking driving trips across the country each summer. Gordon loved attending weekly dances at many community venues in his younger years, and in their retirement years, Gordon and Sylvia would follow to listen to their favorite band, the Female Beat'. He will be sadly missed and many memories will live on by those who spent time with him. A Panakhyda will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 5, at 10:00 a.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB with Rev. Fr. Michael Kwiatkowski Celebrant. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one's choice. VICHNAYA PAMYAT

Our condolences to the family of Gordon, he was a long time member of our club and will certainly be missed by all. A huge supporter by selling Grey Cup Tickets, fundraiser tickets,etc. The club could always reply on Gordon to help in any way possible.
