IRMA ADENA ALPERS (NOEL) January 27, 1926 - July 28, 2015 Irma was one of nine children born to Richard and Ida Noel at the family farm in Seven Sisters Falls, Manitoba. Married Harvey Alpers on June 30, 1950; residing and raising their family in Whitemouth, Manitoba. Irma was proud of her working career and accomplishments, starting with the Gauer family in 1945 while living in Winnipeg along with later employment at Eaton's and Perth's. Together with Harvey they operated the Case Farm Equipment and White Rose Service Station (later Shell Canada Inc.) in Whitemouth - retiring in 1975 after 20 years of serving the community. Irma was then employed part time at Canada Post in Whitemouth. Following retirement Irma travelled much of North America taking bus tours to Alaska, Canada/US West Coast, Canada/US East Coast, a Bahamas cruise, and the central United States. Irma enjoyed reminiscing about her travels and the lifelong friendships made. Lovingly remembered by her three children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Bruce and son Ryan, Faye Schultz (John), Katriena Flanjak, son Samuel and daughter Alyvia, Calvin Schultz, Marion Stepa (David) and sons Michael and Jordan. Irma enjoyed visiting with people, enjoyed accounting work (she liked working with numbers), reading, playing games, gardening (she loved to get her hands in the soil and make things grow), had a keen interest in medical information, procedures, and diagnosis along with home remedies. She had a strong faith in God which guided her throughout her life. Our Mom taught us life lessons through her example: to work hard, to show respect to all people, and deal honestly with others. Mom was a positive person, and was grateful for all that life provided her. The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Place Care Home for the care and support they gave Irma during her time there. As per Irma's request, cremation has taken place. An immediate family graveside committal will take place at a future date. Those wishing to make a gift in Irma's memory may donate to Redeemer Lutheran Church, Whitemouth, MB, CancerCare Manitoba, or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I was a volunteer at Concordia Place, I was there every Thursday night playing games. Irma was one of the nicest ladies there, and was always willing to participate. Whenever I would go and see her she would be drinking her milk and enjoying her cookie. All week long I would look forward to Thursday night so I could see Irma and see how her week has been. She will surely be missed. - Posted by: Dustin (Volunteer at Concordia Place ) on: Aug 01, 2015
