SYLVESTER WILLIAM BORSCH Peacefully surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer, Sylvester died on Friday, July 31, 2015 at the age of 72 years. Sylvester was born, raised, and educated in Ethelbert, Manitoba. Left to forever cherish Syl's memory are his loving wife Barbara; and his children Sandra Campbell, Roger Campbell, his wife Lea-Anna and John Kyle. Also left to remember Syl are his sisters Margaret Borsch and Audrey Harrison; sister-in-law Marilyn McKenzie; as well as brother-in-law Michael Burrows and wife Lori. "Poppy" will also sadly be missed by grandsons, Nathan and Joshua. He also leaves behind extended family and nieces and nephews who will miss their "Uncle Syl". Apart from family, Syl's life was defined by his role with Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation. He began his career on August 18, 1969 and at the time of his passing, Syl had the longest tenure as superintendent and longest standing seniority. Syl will be deeply missed by his colleagues and friends from "highways". He will be missed by his coffee buddies at Fat Boys, McDonalds and A&W. Poker nights with friends will not be the same without him. Syl's faithful companion Bobo has joined him on his journey and together they will be running freely on River Road. In compliance with Syl's wishes, no formal Funeral Service will be held. The family would like to thank Cancer Care, both in The Pas and in Winnipeg, for their kind and sensitive care. Donations, if desired, may be made to The Paw Local Dog Rescue, c/o Emma Lees, PO Box 641, The Pas, MB, R9A 1R7. Sylvester used to come by Michael's Corner Store early in the morning where I worked for many years as the cashier at my dad's store. He was always so friendly to us kids and would always ask how we were doing. Throughout the years I would see Sylvester around the community and he always stopped to chat. He always had a story to tell and made sure you were having a good day. Very sad to hear of his passing and my condolences go out to his family and friends. Rest in peace Sylvester - Posted by: Shauna Munro (O'Rourke) () on: Aug 08, 2015

It was sad news to hear of Syl's passing. He will most certainly be missed at the Highways office in The Pas. I'm sure we will still hear his voice echoing through the office from time to time. Rest in Peace Syl. - Posted by: Bruce Trampe (Co-worker) on: Aug 03, 2015

Uncle Syl is how I referred to him. Uncle Syl was a strong and respectful influence on me during my stay with him and Auntie Barb. What I remember about Uncle Syl was his great sense of humour and the sound of his voice and laugh, that's how I'm remembering Uncle Syl. - Posted by: Michael Reid MacKenzie (Nephew ) on: Aug 01, 2015
