Date of Passing: Jun 04, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAULINE (EDNA) WILSON July 20, 1943 - June 4, 2015 "Formerly a Duncan: Born a Bobby" Our mom was born in Gimli, MB, and passed away 46 days short of her 72nd birthday in Winnipeg, MB. She resided most of her younger years in Matlock, MB. She was predeceased by both parents, John and Evelyn (nee Chastellaine) Bobby; all four brothers, Peter, Ivan, Terry and Jim Bobby; one sister-in-law, Joy Bobby (nee Auer), all of her aunts and uncles and many cousins, most recently cousin Shirley Dux (nee Chastellaine). She was also predeceased by her first husband, our father, Cliff Duncan in November 2014. She is survived by one sister Lori Bobby-Sharkey (and Ken) (Alberta), two sisters-in-law, Robbie Bobby (British Columbia), and Mary Bobby (Ontario). She also leaves behind six nieces and nephews, six great-nieces and nephews, and many cousins. Mom is also survived by three children, Lynne (and Paul), Bruce (and Jen) and Rob (and Julie). "Grandma" also leaves to cherish her memory, three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild: George (Seth, Curren, Serenity and Amber), Krystal (Emma) and Kimberly (Kassandra, Jackson and Jason; the twins). Also, "special" to "grandma" were Jason Sr., Trisha and Kevin. Our mother passed away quickly and very unexpected on the birth of her firstborn child...proving to us, once again...family was everything to her! Mom had many ailments over her lifetime, and thus, couldn't achieve her many aspirations. Except when it came to family...she reigned supreme!! Our mother had many interests early in life. From figure skating and baton twirling to tap dance and her uncle's flower gardens! Mom met and married our father at a fairly early age, and then became the consummate mother, wife and hostess! Because of Dad's work, we lived in Graham, Armstrong and Big Trout Lake, ON. The north was good to our young family! In Big Trout Lake, our mom, along with dad and another friend, owned "The Blackfly Beanery" cafe and also, the infamous "Big Trout Lake Taxi company". And friends, she/they, had many! From pilots and teachers to "The H.B.C." family, etc.! It wasn't enough for her to "manage" three kids and a husband, but, she "fed and watered" hundreds, literally, in her home(s)! She accepted anyone in, no matter your race, sex or capabilities! She was a proud Metis/Ukrainian woman who instilled the same pride into her children / grandchildren. For the last few years Mom lived at 475 Hamilton Ave., where she made many more friends, Auntie Do-Do and Miss Ellen to name but two! Thanks to Charles for your help. The family would like to thank Nenita and the crew from home care for years of support and the staff at M.I.C.U. at Health Sciences Centre (bed four) for making a very difficult time "as easy as possible" for our family! Mom loved live music and good times and missed "Ma's Corral" immensely, so because of that love, there will be a Celebration of Life' gathering the evening of August 29, 2015, with a full memorial service that morning at Chapel Lawn Memorials, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, for all to attend! A private visitation and cremation have already taken place, at an earlier date. For more detailed information please contact your nearest family member, after August 8; most are on Facebook! Should you so desire, please feel free to bring a single stem flower to fill the vases, provided, for Mom! "LOVE ME TENDER" "WE LOVE YOU MOM, REST PEACEFULLY" "TILL WE MEET AGAIN" XOXOXO

Edna accepted me in the clan many years ago back in the 1980's. She was always there for everybody in any way she could be and I will truly miss the Christmas dinners with you and everyone. Your family is my family and we love you. Watch over us please and send us all strength in our trying times and travels ahead. Till we meet again. - Posted by: Roy Hildebrand (Inherited Son/lifelong family friend ) on: Aug 01, 2015
