JANET MABEL MARTEL The family of Janet Mabel Martel announces the passing of a daughter, wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma and friend on July 29, 2015, at 9:40 p.m. at the young age of 64. Janet left us with exceptional memories and lots of love; but it was all to be in a better place, with the love of her life Wayne. Janet loved and was loved by many. Janet was diagnosed with cancer in 2009 and fought for many years with her family at her side. She was a strong and determined women. A one of a kind laugh with a smile you could see for miles and a heart of gold. Her passion was her family, being able to spend as much time possible making as many memories as she could. This phenomenal woman was born on January 27, 1951, in Winnipeg, MB, to her parents Rachel and John Swenarchuk. She leaves behind her children Vincent (Diane) Martel and Cheryl (Duncan) Martel; along with her two grandchildren, Adara (Michael) and Devon, two step-grandchildren Nicholas and Kyla; as well as her two great-granddaughters Elyssia and Kahlaya. She also leaves behind her siblings with great difficulty, Rita (Roman), Barb (Bill), Tom (Val), Rick and Reg. She also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Janet was predeceased by her husband Wayne Marte; mother and father Rachel and John Swenarchuk. Celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St., Winnipeg.
