JOHN ABRAM NEUFELD On Saturday, July 25, 2015, John passed away peacefully at the age of 88 years at the Charleswood Care Centre. Left to cherish John's memory are his stepdaughter Donna Swiston; brother Henry (Joan) Neufeld; sister Mary Massey; and sister-in-law Agnes Neufeld. His nieces and nephews will always remember the great times they had with "Big-J". He was predeceased by his parents Abram and Justina Neufeld; sisters Joyce Neufeld, Martha Neufeld, Anne Swonnell and Kay Voth; brother Abe Neufeld; as well as brothers-in-law Henry Voth and Raymond Massey. John was raised in Springstein, Manitoba. He began his teaching career in rural Manitoba and continued in the St. James School Division as a teacher and principal. John kept very busy after retirement. He operated "Distinguished Jewelry" where he created many pieces of fine jewelry. John then opened Mr. J.'s Outdoor Travelling B.B.Q. where he catered for many functions and organizations. He also spent time volunteering at Age and Opportunity, the Grace Hospital, Deer Lodge Centre and the Assiniboine Park. John's countless hours provided him with much recognition. In compliance with John's wishes, no formal Funeral Service will be held. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Special thanks to the staff at Waverley Retirement Residence for making him feel welcome, and to Charleswood Care Centre for providing him with exceptional care.
