TITENIA RUTCHKA (nee KEMPA) After a long and wholesome life of 96 years Teenie Rutchka passed away on July 31, 2015 while in Arborg Hospital. She will be missed by sons Alvin (Wendy); grandsons, Kyle (Dominique), Kody, Cole; Larry (Sandy); granddaughter Leah (Ben) Heath, great-granddaughters, Cleo and Mila; and daughter Joyce (Bud) Higgins. Teenie was predeceased by her husband Mike, her parents, all of her siblings, which included three sisters during a diphtheria outbreak in February of 1921, all of her in-laws, and several nieces and nephews. Teenie was born on December 22, 1918 on the family homestead near Chatfield, MB. During her young adult life she worked for several years at Chatfield, Winnipeg, and Toronto. After her marriage to Michael Rutchka, they resided in Broad Valley, MB. where they farmed and raised their family. In 2006 Teenie moved into Sunrise Lodge in Arborg, and in 2014 relocated into Arborg's assisted living complex. The family thanks all of the home care workers, doctors, nurses, and additional staff who provided care for Mom over the last number of years. Funeral service will be held at Broad Valley Community Hall at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 with interment to follow at the Broad Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Teenie's memory to an organization providing research into a cure for cancer, diabetes, heart disease, or arthritis.
