Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJANE FUTORSKI Jane passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital on Wednesday, August 5, 2015. She was born April 28, 1944, grew up in Winnipeg and attended St. John's High School. Upon graduation she followed her passion and entered Misericordia Hospital School of Nursing (1965). She was a caring and competent nurse who remained active until 2012 in her profession. She made many friends throughout her life, many of whom she cherished as friends today. Her love of travel, adventure and different cultures inspired her to reside in Hawaii, San Francisco and more recently in Saudi Arabia, as well as travel to many other countries throughout Europe and Southeast Asia. She will be greatly missed and forever loved by all who knew her. Predeceased by her parents and her sister Nell, she is survived by sisters Pat and Elsie, nephews Don, David, and niece Inger (Alex) and their children. She will also be missed by her cherished feline companions Wally and Pookie. The family wishes to thank Jane's many great friends for all their support through these challenging times. A heartfelt thanks also to Dr. Daeninck and the staff of 5E and 5B of St. Boniface Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Museum of Human Rights (Friends of CMHR), 85 Israel Asper Way, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 0L5, or an animal shelter of your choice. I have many fond & loving memories of Jane. In high school where we first met, throughout 3 years of nursing training at Miseri, rooming & working in Hawaii & San Fransisco & in later years keeping in touch by phone & trips to Winnipeg.It is hard to believe that you are gone but now no longer in pain. I never grew up with my Auntie Janie, but contacted her later in her "later years". She gave me a lot of encouragement. Most importantly, she battled her cancer with a positive attitude. I feel a loss, because I didn't contact her before her death. Please write your comments, it means a lot to me and to the help at Janie's hospital. My prayers and condolences to Jane's family. My second trip to work in Saudi, Jane was my first roommate. She was a awesome person and had a great love for animals, she found Ali (her beloved Saudi cat) she just loved him so much.
