Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIOLET BLANCHE MCKEAN On Thursday, August 6, 2015, Violet Blanche McKean, at the age of 94, died in her residence at Belmont House, Toronto. Violet was predeceased by her husband, Archdeacon Keith McKean, in 2010. She was a stalwart helpmate to him in her role as a clergy wife. Violet had a wonderful gift of hospitality which she extended to all the friends and visitors who graced their home for 67 years. She was an excellent letter-writer who corresponded faithfully with family members and many friends. Violet loved Beauty deeply- be it music, art, ballet, flowers, a sunset, the ocean. Much of her volunteer work was involved in the love of these arts. She brought this Beauty into our home in song, pictures, books, and her sewing skills. She found the ravages of old age hard to bear in her last years. Her family would like to extend their deeply felt thanks to the staff at Belmont House for their stellar care and tremendous kindness and patience in these last years. Violet is survived by her daughter Janice (Art) and her son Ross (Mark), her grandchildren Emily and Garth (Cori) and great grandchildren Eira and Astrid. Funeral arrangements are as follows: Requiem Eucharist at Grace Church-on-the-Hill, 300 Lonsdale Rd., Toronto at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2015. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to Sisters of St. John the Divine, 233 Cummer Ave., Toronto, ON, M2M 2E8 or a charity of your choice.
