FLORA ANN YOUNG (FLO) 1927 - 2015 On August 4, 2015 with her family by her side, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great friend to all that knew and loved her. Flora leaves to mourn her son Don (Janet) Young; her daughters Donna (Roy) Hadaller, and Linda (Bob) Forbes; her grandchildren Michelle (John), Chris, Dawn (Dale), Kevin, and Ashley (Shane); and her great-grandchildren Justin, Brooklyn, Hailey, Harley, Karissa, Cole, and Jake. She was a loving wife to her husband Dave Young (Scotty), who predeceased her in 2012. She is also predeceased by her grandson Michael. Flora will be remembered for her strong will, her feistiness and her sense of humour. Even until the end she had us in stitches laughing. Her passions in life were her family, bingo and loved going to the Casino. Special thanks to the wonderful care she was given at St. Boniface Hospital, 7th Floor A South in her final moments of life. Also a very special thanks to her family doctor; Dr. Darcy Johnston who will miss her little notes, underlined in RED and her kibitzing; also Dr. Jason Park. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place at a later date as per Flora's wishes. "I have all the riches and treasures of the world. I've had children and they've had children. I have loved and I have been loved. I am blessed. What more could I ask for in life?" In lieu of flowers donations may be made to CancerCare or to a charity of your choice. We will miss you dearly and love you more. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

We were so saddened to hear of Flo's passing. She has been a wonderful neighbour and friend for over 10 years. She had an amazing spirit, positive attitude, zest for life and an amazing sense of humor. She was kind, caring and always looked out for our family and our home. Shane, Amelia, January and I will miss her dearly. We are sending our love and condolences to the entire Young family. - Posted by: The Mackeil Family (neighbour) on: Aug 12, 2015

Grandma Young was the kindest, most caring person I know. She loved her family very much and they love her back- 10 fold. I have many fond memories of Grandma Young; most of the stories keep everyone laughing as her sense of humour was always front and centre. She loved to attend the events that her grandchildren and great grandchildren were a part of. Over the years, she could be seen at soccer games, hockey games, baseball games, school concerts, piano recitals and anything else she was able to be a part of. She could start a conversation with anyone. And by the end of that conversation she seemed to know that person's life story. It was an absolute honour to call her Grandma and to be treated like her grand-daughter for many years. She was an incredible woman, wonderful wife and mother and her greatest role was grandmother and great-grandmother. We are all better for knowing her and being loved by her. I sure hope the bingo hall and casino are ready for her in Heaven! Actually, I am sure they are as Grandpa has been saving her a seat. Grandma, you will be missed, but forever remembered and in our hearts. - Posted by: Carolyne () on: Aug 10, 2015

I am so sorry that your Mom Flo has passed. I met your parents decades ago re a bowling league in Elmwood. They were such a great couple. Your Mom was such a wonderful person--so full of fun and kindness. To have had such a Mom is a true blessing and a deep loss for all of you. Take care. We were all blessed to be so loved by Grandma Young. As a girl who had no biological Grandma's around it was so special to be in her world if only for a little while. Love you! - Posted by: Lee-Ann () on: Aug 09, 2015

Oh Grandma! I love you so much. I'm going to miss calling you, coming over to visit, going to the casino together, going out for lunch/dinners. Family get together are not going to be the same now that we don't have you or grandpa around. There's going to be a big empty void. But we will remember all the good times and stories that you gave us, and cherish those forever. That is something that can't be taken away. You were the strongest woman I have known, with everything that you have gone through in your life is more than anyone should have had to endure. But never once did you complain, never once did I hear you sat 'why me' you just took whatever came your way and dealt with it as it came, and you fought through everything like a champ. You held on longer than you needed to but I know you loved us all so much you didn't want to leave. But we knew you were ready to go, and be with grandpa again. So struggled long enough and 3 years without grandpa must have felt like an eternity. Now you are at peace and no longer needing to fight. Go be free with Grandpa and Michael and give them both a hug and a kiss from me. We will all be together in time, but for now it's good bye, I will miss you more than words can describe, it definitely won't be easy. I love you so much, and I know you would say 'I love you more'.! - Posted by: Ashley (Granddaughter) on: Aug 08, 2015
