Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRENE FAITH WALTHAM October 4, 1936 - August 1, 2015 With broken hearts we said goodbye to our mom and baba on August 1, 2015. Mom was the glue that bonded our family together and she will be missed so much. Mom was born in Hull, England and came to Canada in her early 20's. She was a very loving, kind and gentle person but she was also very strong willed. She was always there to help her family and she loved us unconditionally. Mom taught us the value of family and togetherness and what hard work can accomplish. She spent most of her working life at the University of Manitoba Food Services. We would like to thank all those at HSC GH3 and GB5 and the palliative team involved in Mom's care these past months, especially Dr. J. Lipschitz and in particular to nurse Tunde who provided extra special care and comfort that Mom appreciated so very much. There will be no funeral, simply a private gathering to celebrate her life. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Irene to the Canadian Cancer Society, a charity of your choice, or pay tribute to her by extending a kind gesture to someone in need, take a moment to make a difference in someone's life as she did for so many. We love and miss her so much; children Gail (David), Heather, Rick and Kevin (Crystal); dear friend and our Dad Bill; grandchildren, Lee, Chelsea (Daniel), Michael (Alyssa), Jessica (Christian), Ethan, Damien and Faith; great-grandchildren Tristan, Cianna and Scarlet.

I may have only met you a few times , but you made a big impression on me ! I remember you coming over to my nanna's house when I was about 8 , and I thought it was hilarious you calling sweets candy hahaha . Will never forget that! Your dear Mother was such a wonderful lady! I have such fond memories of Irene, from when my Mom lived at the Gardens. She always had care and concern for others, and was such a dear friend to my Mom. The last time I stopped by to see her, we had a lovely visit on the bench in front, in the beautiful sunshine. Even though she was struggling with her own health issues, she was always interested in what others were doing. I will always recall her beautiful accent with a smile in my heart. You all meant the world to her, I could always feel the love she felt, whenever she spoke of her Family.
