Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMILLICENT WIELER (nee STADNEK) Millicent Marion "Millie" Wieler (nee Stadnek) died peacefully in the Bassano Health Centre on May 3, 2015 in Bassano, AB at the age of 89. Millie was born December 13, 1925 in Arborg, Manitoba. She was one of eighteen children born to Anna (nee Braschuk) and John Adam Stadnek. She went to school and worked in Arborg. Millie married Corny in 1953. They were blessed with six children. Millie enjoyed baking. Her bread, cinnamon buns, pastries and Christmas goodies were out of this world. The perogies and cabbage rolls weren't bad either! Her young hands were kept busy with homemaking, gardening, preserving, knitting, crocheting, embroidering, and sewing. She loved playing BINGO and baseball, bowling, and being outdoors. In her later years, she enjoyed travelling and camping. Millie is survived by her husband, Cornelius; daughters, Corrine Harris (Allen), Shirley Kotyk (Eugene), Barbara Wieler (Randy); sons, Norman (Kathy), Roy (Shannon), Gordon (Naomi); 12 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Gomez; sister-in-law Jean Stadnek; sisters-in law Mary Fehr (Peter), Betty Hildebrand, Mary Wieler, Katherine Thiessen; brothers-in-law Ike (Ann), Henry, John (Marge) and hundreds of nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, Brooks, AB. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
