GORDON KENNETH SIMONSON Retired Sergeant Gordon Kenneth Simonson, age 81, passed away July 10, 2015 at Kamloops Hospital in British Columbia. Gordon was born November 15, 1933, in the Municipality of Woodlands, MB and received his education at the Woodlands School. He is survived by his wife Peggi, children Keith (Brenda), Kenneth (Colleen) and Kim Guss (David), five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Ted, Carl and Lloyd, sisters Astrid, Dorothy and Viola and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Torger and Martha, brothers Gary and Doug and nephew Wesley. He joined the RCMP on April 8, 1952, and served in K Division (Alberta) until he left the force in 1956. He rejoined the RCMP in 1958 and served the rest of his career in E Division (British Columbia) being stationed in North Vancouver, Vancouver, Castlegar, Prince Rupert and Prince George. Upon retirement December 27, 1979, he went to work for the British Columbia Racing Commission in the lower mainland. He enjoyed working for another 20 years before retiring for a second time. In sports he very much enjoyed participating in baseball, curling and golf. At Gordon's request there will be no memorial service held. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
