ANNE REBENCHUK (nee SEMENIUK) Peacefully, on August 10, 2015 Anne left her life on this earth to meet with her Lord and Saviour at the age of 95. With clarity of mind she has been reunited with her predeceased husband Mike. She leaves to mourn her four children, sons Allan (Florence), Ted (friend Louise); daughters Verna (Mike), Evangeline (Roy); grandchildren Michael, Jr., Angela (Chris), Ryan, Michelle, Kristy, Stacey, Tara (Paris) and precious great-granddaughter Aspen as well as many nieces and nephews. Anne is also survived by her sisters Jean, Irene, Polly, Stella, Ollie and Phyllis. Anne was predeceased by her parents George in 1989 and Dora in 1978. She was predeceased by her sisters Mary, Margaret, Jessie and brothers John and Harry. Anne was born in Sandy Lake, MB. and was the eldest daughter of George Semeniuk and Dora Tkatch. She attended school in Sandy Lake; married Michael Rebenchuk October 9, 1939 at the Sandy Lake Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church. Anne and Mike farmed in the Erickson district from 1939 to 1976. They served on the Committee organized by the Rev. Nicholas Sirey to help build the Sacred Heart Church in Erickson in 1962. In 1978 Anne moved to Winnipeg and was a devoted member of St. Basil the Great Church; she was a member of the U.C.W.L.C. and received her 50 year pin this year. Anne was a regular volunteer at the pyrohy bees held monthly at the church and she enjoyed the company of the many kind ladies there when she was still able to participate. Some of Mom's favourite pasttimes were reading. She would spend countless hours reading books on spirituality. As well she loved to tend to her little vegetable garden in the summer and relax in her gazebo enjoying the outdoors . Mom was our little "Santa Claus" because she would never come over without sharing some of her freshly baked bread buns. She had a big heart and her love was unconditional; she will be greatly missed. Special thanks to the nursing staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital Ward 1U, namely: Jhonice, Zandra, Betty, Linda as well as Dr. Goeke, for the compassionate care provided to Mom. Prayers for Mom will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Erickson. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, August 14 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Church in Erickson with interment to follow at the Sandy Lake Cemetary.
