MAURICE ALBERT SCHNEIDER December 22, 1929 - August 5, 2015 A longtime resident of Grand Marais, MB, Maurice passed away at Pine Falls Hospital. Born in the Swan River District, Maurice married Doreen Godfrey on July 3, 1948. After raising their family in Winnipeg, Maurice and Doreen retired to Grand Marais. Maurice was predeceased by his wife Doreen, one great-grandson John Erik Demery, and very special friend Verna Spence. He was also predeceased by his brother John Schneider and sister Joan Cameron. He is survived by children Maxine (Donald) Maksymetz, Barbara (Gilbert, d.) Alarie, Jack (Leslie) Schneider, and Jim (Marilyn) Schneider, 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and sisters-in-law Kathy Godfrey and Josie Lechman. Sincere thanks to the wonderful, caring staff of the Pine Falls Hospital. As per his wishes, there will be no formal funeral. A "Celebration of Life" will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at the Grand Marais Rec Hall, 90 Matilda Ave., Grand Marais, MB. David & I want to say Maurice was the first neighbour in Grand Marais to stop by many a times to have a chat & share stories & help us out with great advice at the Old lumberyard.   • my dad Alf Laidlaw was a good friend and drinking partner at the cottage of Maurice. They shared many drinks and conversation at my Dad,s cottage in grand beach. Always willing to help with plumbing problems when dad would call. our condolences to the family especially Marilyn and Jim. he will be missed by many.
