Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER FRANCIS CROWLEY April 14, 1924 August 7, 2015 Peacefully with his family at side Peter passed away following a brief illness. He was born April 14, 1924 in Winnipeg and grew up in St. Boniface and attended St. Paul's College. At a young age he worked as a tailor for Jacob Crowley. Dad served his country in the Royal Canadian Navy aboard a Corvette patrolling the North Atlantic. When returning from duty he met and married the love of his life, Eileen Milson in March of 1946 and they spent 63 years together before her passing in May of 2009. They settled in St. Vital and raised three children. Peter was very active in the St.Vital Kinsmen Club which he was president in 1961 and 1962 before moving to Kenora. Peter and Eileen owned and operated Ella-Lynn's Ladies Wear until his retirement in 1998 at the age of 75. Peter was a very active member of the community, a member of the Knights of Columbus, K40 and enjoyed boating and golfing. Peter and his wife spent winters in Marco Island. .He enjoyed spending time with his family and he was known for his generosity, his kindness and his sense of humour. .Peter was predeceased by his wife Eileen, Brother Paul Crowley and sister Mary Ellen Bawden, brother in law Dave (Kae) McIntosh, brother in law Robert Shand and brother in law Richard Beckman. He is survived by his son Peter Crowley Jr.; his daughters, Pat Foster and Jo-Anne Crowley (Doug); grandchildren Gabrielle Crowley, Robyn (Dennis) Favreau, Ryan (Ashley) Foster, Jaime Foster (Ryan), Michael (Lori) Crowley, Jay Shaw; great-grandchildren Hudson and Finlee Favreau, Hannah and Kaia Foster, Hailey Crowley, Danica and Ethan Zorko. Peter is survived by his sister Margaret Shand of New York, Brother in law Bill Bawden of Winnipeg, sister in law, MaureenCrowley of Toronto and sister in law Ruth Beckman of Winnipeg. A private family celebration of Peter's life has taken place. Donations in Peter's memory may be made to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation. Bill and I will always remember our yearly trips, during the last few years, to visit Uncle Peter and family. The wonderful welcoming and reminiscing of the years gone by was always a day to look forward to. Uncle Peter and Auntie Eileen will be sadly missed and always remembered.
