I grew up in the westend in Winnipeg. Once I became aware of the need for money I got a job at Empress Lanes, which was located on Empress St. in the westend in Winnipeg. Empress Lanes was a poolhall,5 and 10 pin bowling lanes, lounge, restaurant kind of place.Great place to shoot pool, hang out, play pinball and this is where I met Lumpy. We all seemed to have aliases we went by (usually much to our chagrin) and Lumpy was no less an odd name as was Roper or Ziffel or Gord-on.I myself was Freddy (very clever, adding the letters from your surname to your...never mind)I'm unsure of when I became aware of Lumpy's actual name. I'm sorry to hear Lumpy has passed.I knew him to be a generous and kind person, also outrageous. I know he's making someone laugh as you read this.
