ADELINE HILDERMAN Peacefully in the afternoon while sleeping in her chair Adeline Hilderman passed away at the Maples Personal Care Home on August 10, 2015 at the age of 90. Adeline was predeceased by her parents Peter and Mathilda Kube, her husband Fred, brother Edwin Kube and sisters Dorothy Kovach and Lorraine Picker. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Linda (James) Blake, son Gordon Hilderman, sisters Eleanor Mayert (Ken Campion) and Carol (Wayne) Stairs, sister-in-law Betty Kube, brother-in-law, Gerry Picker (Sylvania) and many nieces and nephews and friends. Adeline Martha Kube was born on the farm outside of Morden, Manitoba on June 4th, 1925 the eldest of six children. She attended Alexandria School. At the age of 18 she left the farm and came to Winnipeg where she worked at Burns Meat Co. On November 2nd, 1946 she married Fred Hilderman and together they celebrated 52 and one half years of marriage. They resided in the house that Fred built on Cathedral Avenue. Adeline enjoyed cooking and baking and loved to try new recipes. She was active in the Robertson School PTA and in later years she joined the St. Luke's Zion Lutheran Church Choir and served in the ladies group. She also enjoyed bowling, knitting, gardening, playing cards, bingo at Sinclair Park Community Centre and traveling both by car and train. Her travels took her across Canada from Victoria to Montreal. She especially enjoyed the north and made three trips to Churchill, Manitoba and for her 80th birthday she went to Whitehorse, YT. Adeline always had a smile, liked to joke around and was always there to lend a hand. She was caring and compassionate and always had room at her table and in her heart for one more. Her husband and family were the most important things in her life. A special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Maples Personal Care Home, to Mave Dickson, Olga Dudka, Evelyn Roloff and Pastor Lynne Hutchison for their kindness, help, support and friendship.
