Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRENE ETSELL June 4, 1936 - August 9, 2015 In loving memory of Irene Etsell, aged 79 years, who passed away in the Dryden Regional Health Centre on August 9, 2015 following a lengthy illness. Left to cherish her memory are Irene's three children, Kim Blair (Chris Kamm), Earl (Melanie) Etsell and Sherry Frenette; her grandchildren: Cameron and Cody Blair, Karlie Vandenberghe, Jodi Gonske and Theresa Spoljarich; her great-grandchildren: Braeden, Landon, Jamison, Hailey, Travis and Morgan. She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Edna Owens, Eima Richter and Elenor Peltz. She is predeceased by her husband Harvey Etsell; parents, Ida and William Richter; and her brothers, Burt, Irvin, Lenny, Rudy and Art Richter; and sister Martha Neiser. Mom was born and raised on a farm in Beausejour, Manitoba with her parents, five brothers and four sisters. Times were tough but she always enjoyed the good times as well, such as swimming in the creek, playing with the animals and enjoying family time singing songs in harmony, playing guitar and accordion with her brothers and sisters. Later on she followed her brother Rudy and his wife Elsie to Dryden to be with them and she took on a waitressing job at the Bright Spot. She soon met and married her sole companion Harvey Etsell and enjoyed their 25 years of marriage and family life with their three children. She took such pride in raising her children and was a full-time mom until we went to school. She then took on full-time jobs in office and home cleaning and worked on contract for many years with Bell Canada. She loved fishing and spending time travelling to be with her family in Manitoba. On the weekends she enjoyed time with friends playing card games and later spending time with her grandchildren. In the summer she would spend endless hours in the blueberry patch even if she couldn't find anyone to go with her. She loved feeding and watching the birds, tended to her beautiful flowerbeds and spending time with her kitty. She will be sadly missed by all. We miss you Mom! A memorial funeral service to celebrate Irene's life will be held Monday, August 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Moffat Chapel of the Stevens Funeral Homes with Pastor Justin Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Dryden Cemetery. If friends desire, donations may be made to Second Chance Pet Network or Heart and Stroke Foundation, through the Stevens Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 412, Dryden, ON P8N 2Z1. Condolences may be posted at www.stevensfuneralhomes.ca
