Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN HENRY DOLYNCHUK January 24, 1927 - August 14, 2015 Peacefully in his sleep John passed away at the Tudor House Nursing Home in Selkirk, MB. Dad was born and raised in Tolstoi, MB. It was there that he met and married his wife Sonia. They were married for 63 years, and together they raised three children. He was a hard working, reliable man who was employed at Burns Foods in Winnipeg for over 40 years. Because of his dependability, Dad was elected as Chief Steward of his Union (Canadian Food & Allied Workers). For many years he fought hard for his fellow employees negotiating better wages and benefits and safer work conditions as well. He and Mom loved to travel. They spent many winters in Mesa, Arizona. He especially loved playing BlackJack in Vegas and made sure he always walked away from the table a winner. Dad loved to golf, and spent many evenings playing whist and canasta with close friends. He loved baseball and even found time to coach teams for both his sons. His generosity to his children will always be remembered. John was predeceased by his wife Sonia on January 23, 2013. He is survived by two sons Zane and Randy (Melissa), one daughter, Cheryl Kaziw (Ervin), six grandchildren, Tara Martin (Bryan), Dana Clarkson (Duane), Dean Kaziw (Nikki), Bryce, Kianna and Leah Dolynchuk, as well as three great-grandchildren Sophie Martin, Cash and Jones Clarkson. Our family is forever grateful to the staff at Tudor House. Your love and care of our Father was a great comfort. A special thank you to Chelsea. No formal service will be held. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date.

Awe. How terribly tragic. It was wonderful getting to know John! I enjoyed him and Sonya's company immensely. He loved to play the harmonica, tell stories and was a real charmer! I will always have fond memories of both of them. I am so sorry for your loss. My sympathy is extended to the entire family. Love from, Violet :(( - Posted by: Violet D'Saint () on: Aug 18, 2015
