LILY FEUER In the early morning of August 16, 2015, Lily Feuer wife, mother, Babi, sister and friend passed away peacefully. She was 84 years old. Lily was born on November 30, 1930 in Winnipeg. Lily was a devoted wife and mother and tirelessly cared for those around her. Lily is predeceased by her parents; Bella and Joe Weiner, husband Lionel, brother Leibl Weiner and sister Gertie Kowall. Lily will be profoundly missed by her children Glen (Kim), Joel (Debra), Carla (Ron) and Brian (Darcey); grandchildren Mia (Constantine), Eric (Meghan), Jill (Layne), Kirby (Cory), Tali (Leo), Lauren, Lindsay, Max and great-grandchild Ruby. She is survived by her sisters Anne Cohan and Sandra Kagan, as well as countless family and friends. It is with deepest regret that Lily will be unable to meet her future great-grandchildren, including the two that are on the way. Lily cherished her time with Lionel, whether travelling to their place in Florida for the winter, or hosting family at their swimming pool in the summer. Lily was an active life member of B'nai B'rith Women, having received the Woman of the Year Award in 2004. She held a position on the Phoning Committee for many years and enjoyed speaking and volunteering with all of the members. For Babi, family was the most important thing. Her children and grandchildren remember Friday night dinners, Sunday brunches and holiday dinners fondly, where Babi held command in the kitchen, never letting anyone help. Babi was famous for her kammish, gefilte fish, matzoh ball soup, among many other Jewish delicacies. Her warm smile exuded the pride she had for her family. Above all, Lily was a woman of strength and grace, and she will be remembered for her resilience. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hebrew Sick Benefit Cemetery, 2605 McPhillips St. A private shiva will be observed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice. A special thanks is offered to the medical team at the Victoria General Hospital for their patience and care. "That we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us." Helen Keller

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Thinking of your family at this time. May Lily rest in peace and may her memory be a blessing - Posted by: Francine permack () on: Aug 19, 2015

  • I met Lily around 37 years ago when Mort would stop by the house in Garden City to see Lionel. Lily always made me feel welcome, no matter how busy she was. She invited us numerous times to join the family for Friday dinner. Lily was one of the most gracious woman I have ever had the privilege to meet. Thanks Lily for your kindness and grace. - Posted by: Corinne Larsen (Friend) on: Aug 18, 2015

  • To Lily's children, I had the privilege of looking after Lily many years ago as one of her clinic nurses. We met regularly and got to know each other well over several years. Lily was truly the most kind-hearted,grateful person I have met during my nursing career. She spoke often of all her children and grandchildren with love and pride. May she rest well now with her hubby. I will never forget her. Take care during this difficult time. June - Posted by: June Catrijsse (Nurse) on: Aug 18, 2015
