SHARON MARGARET CARTER
Date of Passing: Aug 16, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHARON MARGARET CARTER (CARSWELL) It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our courageous wife, mother and grandmother, Sharon Margaret Carter, on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at the Health Sciences Centre. After a heroic battle with rheumatoid arthritis, Mom left us, peacefully, surrounded by her family. Her life was full of loving friends and family whom she cherished dearly. From time at the lake to endless sing-alongs at Christmas, she lived in every moment. Her positive spirit was infectious, inspiring those around her and setting a true example to live by. Sharon was predeceased by her parents, William and Margaret Claney, and her sister, Marilyn Morrison of Thunder Bay, Ontario. Left to mourn her passing is her devoted husband, Ron Carter, her sons Brian Carswell (Joanne) and Murray Carswell (Gail), her daughter Karen Ross (Doug), and her grandchildren Jessica, Nicole, Megan, Sarah and Jack. The family would like to extend their gratitude to all of her doctors and caregivers over the years and the caring staff of the MICU at the Health Sciences Centre. A Celebration of Sharon's Life will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Manitoba Arthritis Society. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 204-885-9715

In this lovely tribute to Sharon, you mention her heroic battle with R.A. and this made me reflect upon her positive nature and the grace with which she accepted the disease's debilitating effects but never let it keep her from enjoying time with her family. She was always so welcoming and so generous with her wit, sense of humour and stories. My girls and I will miss her. Rest in Peace Sharon. Prayers and hugs to the family. - Posted by: Lia Baksina (Friend of the family) on: Aug 19, 2015

To Ron and Family: So sorry to read about Sharon's passing. I worked with Sharon at Newman MacLean when she worked for Herb Suderman and I worked for Mel Neuman (so many years ago but I have such special memories of those days). I remember all to well when she was diagnosed with this debilitating disease. She overcame so much and never seemed to give up, coming to work when she was suffering such pain, and eventually having to quit her job and stay at home. I have often thought of her and her daughter Karen when she, as well, was very ill. She always had a wonderful smile, awesome attitude and was a wonderful co-worker. Rest in Peace, Sharon. - Posted by: Karen Claeys (Former Co-Worker at Newman MacLean) on: Aug 19, 2015
