Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCAROL JOYCE CALDWELL It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Carol Joyce Caldwell (nee Gorham) at her home on August 15, 2015. Mom was born in Milden, Saskatchewan on September 3, 1942. She married Terrence Peachey in 1959. They had two children, Darryl and Heather. She married her second husband, her soulmate Robert (Bert) Caldwell in 1968. They had a daughter Angela. The family moved to Winnipeg in the fall of 1974. Mom enjoyed many cross country vacations, but particularly enjoyed the trips back to Saskatchewan and the family antics that were sure to follow! Following Bert's passing in 1988, Carol went on to enjoy life with five grandchildren and two step-grandsons. Left to mourn her passing are son Darryl; daughter Heather (Dave) and grandchildren Lauren, Jaclyn and Steven; daughter Angela (Steve) and grandchildren Dustin, Meagan and step-grandsons Conner and Lachlin. Sisters Glenda Laurent and Debbie Oliver. Sister-in- law Linda Gorham; brothers-in-law Tom Caldwell and Bill Caldwell (Janet). We would like to thank the WRHA palliative care program, especially Sarah-Jane (palliative nurse) and all the HCA's who enabled us to fulfill moms wish of living out her final days at home. We take solace in knowing that Mom and Dad are reunited once again in heaven. A celebration of Mom's life will be held on August 29, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 4000 Portage Avenue. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in her memory. Carol's Journey - (Poetry in Motion) Born on the prairie, A true delight. A loving father, Her guiding light. Good times passed, But would not last. Tears did flow, She missed him so. He came to her, Shy, but sure. Have faith in me, My love will be true. I can, and will, provide for you. I'd like to share, My life with you. Tears did flow, She said, “ I do”. Their family grew, Her dreams came true. Her love for him, And his for her, It would seem, Could never end. His last request, To see his wife. Before the cancer, Took his life. Tears did flow, She missed him so. Time will not heal, A broken heart. A daughter’s secret, Would be a good start, A first born, grandchild Is on the way. She will really make your day. Tears did flow, She Loves her so. And along they came, These bundles of joy. To grow and learn, And mend her heart. She filled their days with light and love. So they would have a really good start. Tears did flow. She loves them so. Her body aches, Memories ... She, holds so dear. Her family waits, At heaven's gate. Her purpose here... Not quite so clear. Tears do flow, I miss her so.
