SARAH EVE SMYTHE (nee BUSKARD) "Does heaven wait, all heavenly, over the next horizon?" Sarah passed away on August 18, 2015 in Winnipeg after a long, grueling fight with her mortal enemy, cancer. She was predeceased by her father Dr. Noel Buskard. Sarah leaves behind her mother Margaret McKinney; brothers and sisters John, Adam, James, Felicity, Verity Claire and Andrew as well as myself, her husband, Steven. After a four year absence, cancer returned in early 2014. Sarah thought it may be karma catching up with her. Those who knew Sarah know her caring nature and giving spirit would only allow karma to offer good things. This was life playing the cruelest of pranks. Some of Sarah's greatest joys were spending time with friends and their children, our dog and cats, crafting, baking, and heading out on long drives around North America; I've lost my navigator on road trips and through life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society in Sarah's name. A celebration of Sarah's life will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street, in the form of a come and go reception from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. This will be a relaxed afternoon, as per Sarah's wishes; If you're wearing your Sunday best, you're overdressed. • Even though I never met Sarah, I feel I know her so well because of my friendship with her mom, Margaret. I can't begin to tell you how sad I am because her passing is such a great loss to so many. From the way Margaret spoke of her, she was so bubbly, so full of life and very, very caring. I feel I missed out on not knowing her. Please accept my sincerest sympathy for your loss. - Posted by: Joanne Monkhouse (Friend to mom, Margaret) on: Aug 22, 2015
