JANICE ABOLIT (nee ZYNGER) January 2, 1945 - August 19, 2015 Janice was born in Polonia, MB and raised in Neepawa. Janice passed away with her family by her side in Winnipeg on August 19, 2015 from complications caused by lung cancer. Janice was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Gladys Zynger; brother Clarence, and sister Bernice. With great sadness, Janice is leaving her husband, Ivan; daughters Denine (Dave); Lia (Chris); and sisters Eileen (Rodney) and Denise. Janice was both a military wife and stay-at home Mom. She was on postings with her husband across Canada and to the United States; travelled to the United Kingdom, and had fond memories of visits to the Klondike gold fields and Louisiana bayous. Her daughters, Denine and Lia, are very grateful for their stay-at-home Mom being there for them for their growing needs and concerns. They were taught the values of love, compassion, kindness and forgiveness by their Mom who was always conscious of the needs of others. When not working part time as a BC Tel and MTS Service Rep and while also tending to her family, Janice was extremely creative in paper tole and macrame hobbies, and flower garden projects. Respecting Janice's wishes, cremation will take place to be followed by a private family interment. The family wish to express their sincere gratitude to the Nursing and Health Care staffs of CancerCare Manitoba; the Grace Hospital Intensive Care Unit and 5 North Medicine for their compassionate care of Janice during her struggle. Appreciation is also expressed to Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens for the assistance received during this most difficult time for Janice's family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Janice's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.

Ivan & family I am so very sorry to hear of Janice's passing. I enjoyed our visits & calls for many years as Jan and I always found lots to talk about. Eileen and I are saddened by learning of Jan's passing. It was so nice to see the both of you when we last met at the Grocery Store. Both of us can personally relate to the turmoil and sadness that you and your family are experiencing as we have been there. Mom, I miss you. You had a great gift of love, compassion and forgiveness. Always giving of yourself, never holding back, even when you needed to be taking care of yourself. You touched and influenced so many people with your kindness. I hope Shep is beside you or curled up on your lap, patiently waiting for his playtime, "walkies", and a biscuit.
