Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGUERITE JEANNE FLACH (nee THOMAS) Marguerite was born in St. Boniface Manitoba on December 26, 1932 and passed away on August 17, 2015 in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 82. Marguerite was predeceased by her husband Don (married 52 years); parents Francois and Marie; brothers Albert and Maurice; and her sister Jeanne. She is survived by her children Don (Mavis) of Calgary, Diane (Fred) of Edmonton, Gordon of Calgary; and grandchildren, Cathy, Robert, Benjamin, Nathan, and Amanda, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; including recently discovered cousins in France. She was also predeceased, and is survived, by many dear friends. The Flachs raised their family mostly in Edmonton with a couple of colourful intervals in the North. It was with great enthusiasm that Marguerite and Don retired to Kelowna. They enjoyed 22 wonderful years of retirement together, making new friends and making new memories. Marguerite filled her time with a daily game of cribbage with Don, golfing, bowling, TOPS, the Red Hats, entertaining in their home, socializing with friends at the Club, and visits to the dog park with Max. Marguerite's career path took her from Mom and Homemaker, to Norman Wells' Postmistress, Canadian Tire Administrative Assistant, CBC Receptionist, Faculté Saint-Jean Secretary, and a proud volunteer for over 10 years at the Rutland Auxiliary Hospital Thrift Shop. After Don's passing in 2008, Marguerite returned to Edmonton where she enjoyed spending time with her family. Her daily goal was to brighten someone's day. Marguerite will be sadly missed and joyfully remembered for her joie de vivre, her sense of humour, and her sincere love of people. The family would like to thank everyone for the caring, love and kindness shown during the past 18 months. A private Celebration of Life will be held. Donations can be made to St. Joseph's Auxiliary Hospital Foundation Edmonton or Rutland Auxiliary Hospital Thrift Shop Kelowna.
