MERLE WOODLEY (nee MCEWEN) Peacefully, on Friday, August 21, 2015, Merle Woodley passed away with family by her side at Lions Prairie Manor at the age of 92 years. She was predeceased by her husband Sydney Kenneth Woodley; mom Geneva Pearl McEwen and her adopted daughter Darlene McClay. Merle is survived by her daughters Barbara (Ivan) Foster and Terry Woodley; grandchildren Kelly (Melvin) Meisner and their children Ryan (Kristin) Meisner and Lindsay (David) Dyck, Albert (Annette) O'Dea, Sean O'Dea and his son Louis O'Dea, James (Cherie) Foster and their children Laryssa and Taylor, Candy Croy and her children Shane Foster, Kayla Foster-Kufus and Candy's husband Bill. Merle is also survived by her great-great-grandchildren. Merle dedicated her life work to the Salvation Army and was involved since June 27, 1963. Captain Merle Woodley was in full time ministry with the Salvation Army for many years beginning in April 13, 1973. Beside corps (church community) appointments, she also held an administration position at Divisional Headquarters in Winnipeg. She retired from ministry with the organization at the age of 65. A Memorial Service will be held at Heritage Park Temple in Winnipeg on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 3:00 pm. Interment will be held at a later date in the Minnetonas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Merle's memory to your local Salvation Army.
