WILLIAM ARTHUR MOORE
Born: Dec 23, 1936
Date of Passing: Aug 21, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) ARTHUR MOORE December 23, 1936 - August 21, 2015 On August 21, 2015 at the age of 78, William (Bill) Moore, after a courageous 21 year battle with Parkinson's disease, peacefully passed away with his family by his side at the Health Sciences Centre Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle and friend to many. He is survived by his wife Barb of 51 years, daughter Shireen (husband Tom, grandson Thomas), Brad (Bossman, dad's favorite Bulldog), brothers, Lloyd (Joan), of Winnipeg, Dale (predeceased Donna) of Morinville, AB, Garry (Louise) of Orleans, ON and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill loved to travel with Barb regardless of his condition most recently as of July. He had many passions, foremost his love for Barb and his family, their annual winter vacations and countless fishing adventures in Lake of the Woods, Ontario. Bill's greatest joy was spending time with his family and close friends. It is during these times that he was given the affectionate name of "Mr. Fish", as he shared his time with all of us on the water catching the next big walleye. Many fish fries with blueberry pies along with Mr. Bill's Ribs were shared during these times. Bill's career spanned 37 years, eventually as partner at Pritchard Engineering along with a three year appointment as Chair of the Canadian Manufacturers Association, Manitoba Division. The family would like to thank all the medical staff, friends and family who have supported and cared for Bill and Barb for so many years. In keeping with Bill's final wish, his legacy will be that his body will serve the Department of Human Anatomy and Cell Science, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Manitoba in hope that someday a cure for Parkinson's disease and many other diseases will be found. A "Celebration of Life" will be held on Saturday, August 29 at 1:30 p.m. at The Meeting Place Church at 139 Smith Street, Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson Society Manitoba, Unit 7 - 414 Westmount Drive, Winnipeg, MB, R2J 1P2. Any inquiries please email Shireen Enns at shireen.1@shaw.ca.

Bill Moore has been a good friend for 50 years, always a great family man and active member of his communities. It is not surprising that this will carry on as he donates his body to Science to support the research into Parkinson's which effect so many. Yes - he loved to fix and fish and the toys that came with that sport. He was such a good teacher that on a fishing trip between our two families Shireen caught the biggest Northern I've ever seen. All ready to create huge fillets Bill humored us and let us stuff and cook the whole fish on the BBQ, even though the nose and tail hung over on either side. Our deepest Condolences to Barb who has been wife and a wonderful caregiver to Bill all these years, and to Brad and Shireen. The world is a little better place from Bill's presence and contributions. Cheryl, Garry and Family Caughlin - Posted by: Cheryl & Garry Caughlin (Life Long Friends) on: Aug 27, 2015

Was so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. Kirk and I sent our thoughts and prayers to you and your family. I would have loved to come for the service but can not work it out. Was so glad to read that you and Bill were able to continue traveling and having adventures which you both enjoyed. Memories!! His battle is over but with the medical research he has enabled it may help find a cure for Parkinson's. How wonderful that would be. Take care. My deepest and sincerest condolences to all of the Moore Family! I am truly saddened by the news of Bill's passing. He wasn't just a patient to me but also a friend. When I got the news we were camping and just the day before saw his note he gave to my kids on how to tie a lure and other tips on fishing. He will always be remembered by me. He was a truly genuine and sincere man. I know his legacy shall continue in you his children and grandson. You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. - Posted by: Katarina Dumbovic Balharry (Friend) on: Aug 25, 2015

Mom Moore, Shireen, Tom, Thomas & Brad. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. He was an amazing man! Dad Moore was 'the real' trooper. Nothing stopped him when he had his mind set on doing something. May your tears of sadness soon be replaced with tears of joy when you think of all the wonderful memories of your Husband, Dad & Grandpa. Love to you all! - Posted by: Tracy Falk (Family friend!) on: Aug 25, 2015

Barb and family so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. What a fight he put up, and the donation of his body for study may result in treatment for the disease of Parkinson. I thank you for listing the place to send donations. May all of the great memories you have of your life together sustain you thru this most difficult time. I really wish I could have made the trip from ND to be there, would love to have visited with family. Just glad that we did reconnect as cousins some years ago. God Bless.
