  • My cousin Daniel AKA "Shemmart" grew up with my sister Maxine and I, he was more like an uncle I guess. My grandparents Emile and Eliza Ranville (mum and Di) took him in as their own. My mom Doris and Shemmart rarely got along because my mom is the baby of the family and I think there was a great sense of jealousy there, lol. But Shemmart was a big pest and got us mad at him a lot. When he moved away to Winnipeg so many years ago, we just basically lost touch over the years, his mom "aunty Alice" and most of his siblings also moved away to Winnipeg and that became their life long place they called home. He has now been called home now to be with mum and Di and aunty Alice along with the rest his deceased family members. Daniel will always be in my heart because we did share Our lives together in my first few years of life in which I will never forget. No more suffering for Shemmart and I am relieved for him, but you will be missed. Now you will be able to be with mum and Di again. - Posted by: Mary Ranville-Eastman (Cousin ) on: Aug 26, 2015

  • As a young girl I grew up calling Daniel by his nickname "Shemmart" an no matter how time as passed I stilled called him "Shemmart" to me that just natural, I guess I've always took for granted that you were always gonna be there, now i know and have always known don't take things for granted, its always next time, and that next time never really came until auntie alice's funeral and I seen you, that's when it really hit that i'm gonna lose you too, but during your last few weeks with us and my mom mentioned that she called you on your birthday and she said they are ready to let you go, an you said that you were ready and that when the time comes, you said "i wonder if mum will have bannock waiting for me" and my mom oh yes she will. Say hi to everyone up there from me................. - Posted by: Sheila Moar (Cousin) on: Aug 26, 2015
