CAROLINE (CAROL) BABCHISHIN Caroline Babchishin of Winnipeg, passed away on August 25, 2015 at the age of 81 years. Carol was born in Invermay, Saskatchewan on January 5, 1934 to Frank and Jennie Wielder. Carol received her education in a country school called "Mason". On October 20, 1952, Carol married Peter Babchishin in the St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Sturgis, Saskatchewan. During her life, Carol lived in Tadmore, Saskatchewan for eight years; in 1960 they moved to a farm in Durban, Manitoba and farmed there until 1984. They then moved to an acreage outside of Winnipeg in 1984, where they stayed till 1987 and decided to move into the city, where she lived until her passing. Carol's hobbies included sewing, quilting, gardening, growing flowers, landscaping the yard in Durban, where she won awards. She is survived by her husband Peter; daughter Karen; and son-in-law Brent; grandchildren Cole, Jarret, Trevor and Tyler; sisters Vicki and Rose; and by brothers Marion, Walter and Tony. Carol was predeceased by her son Barry in March of 1976; brothers Mike, Peter, Carl and John Wieder and by her parents. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 from the St. Columba Roman Catholic Church, Swan River, Manitoba with Father Roy George officiating. Active pallbearers will be Tommy Babchishin, Cole and Jarret Froese, and Anthony Trach. Following the service, Carol will be laid to rest in the Birchwood Cemetery, Swan River, MB. Paull Funeral Home and Crematorium was honored to have served the family.
