NELLIE MORMUL (nee MALUGA) May 1, 1915 - August 25, 2015 It is with deep gratitude for a life so well lived, yet with sadness because she will be missed, that we, her family, bid farewell to our dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mom was born at Roblin, Manitoba on May 1, 1915 to Anton Maluga and Anna Maluga (nee Gulak). In 1918 she came with her parents to Gilbert Plains, district of Tanner, where she went to school. In 1935 she married John Mormul and they resided in Gilbert Plains until 1990 when she moved to Selkirk Knights Centre, in Selkirk, MB living there for 14 years. She was predeceased by her husband, John, in 1978, brother Michael in 1991 and brother Rev. Paul Maluga, CSsR in 1996. Left to cherish the memories of her life are her daughter, Sister Joan Mormul, OSB from St. Benedict's Monastery, son Jack (Maggie), granddaughter Jennifer (Paul), grandson Jeff (Sara) and four great-grandchildren all residing in Peterborough, ON; nephews Peter (Shelly), Bernie (Janice) and niece Patricia (Ron). We, her family, thank so very much the staff at St. Joseph's Residence for the loving and compassionate care she received for the last eight years, especially Doctors Terry and Andrea Babick and Spiritual Care Coordinator, Mirela Stepic-Rhodes. We thank also the Sisters of St. Benedict and Infirmary staff where Mom lived for four years before moving to St. Joseph's. At her request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, August 31 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Benedict's Monastery Chapel, 225 Masters Avenue, West St. Paul, MB. Flowers are gratefully declined.
