BARBARA MCDONNELL September 4, 1960 - August 9, 2015 It is with heavy hearts but with much love, we announce the passing of Barbara Helen McDonnell on August 9, 2015 at the age of 54 years. Barb will be greatly missed by all those who were privileged to be considered family and friends. Barb was predeceased by her father John, her mother Helen and her sister Francine. Barb was a woman of quiet strength. She enjoyed surrounding herself with music and would often play her keyboard, listening to her favourite tunes, singing and dancing like there was no one watching. You would be hard pressed to find a sweeter version of Amazing Grace. Barb lived at her home on Greenhoven for over 20 years and spent the last few months at her new home on Dingle. During this time Barb made long lasting friendships with her roommates Grace and Pamela. They shared many adventures together, including many trips to the lake. The holiday season was a favourite time of the year for Barb - it was always filled with love and laughter. Barb also attended Epic Opportunities, Ness location for a number of years. Barb would often fill the building with music and laughter. If you were lucky enough every once and a while Barb would let you play along with her. She would was known to look for the occasional dance partner and could be found taking staff by the hand and leading them in dance. She made hearts smile on a daily basis. Thank-you to all of the staff at Epic Opportunities Ness and the Winnserv staff at both Greenhoven and Dingle, who were part of Barb's life throughout the years and to those who went above and beyond in caring for Barb in her final days. Thank-you also to the Palliative Care team who were so supportive during this difficult time. A special thank-you to the Zerdin family who welcomed Barb into their family and had formed a long lasting friendship with Barb over the past 20 years. An interment has taken place. A celebration of Barb's life will be held at Canad Inns Polo Park on September 10, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. "though she be little, she is fierce" William Shakespeare "Love lives on in the memories and in the hearts of all those touched by this beautiful person"
