ANNA WEBINGER February 11, 1926 - August 27, 2015 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma and Great-Great-Grandma. Left to mourn Anna are her son, John (Cheri); granddaughter, Lisa; grandson, Michael (Brynlee-Ann); great-grandchildren, Hailey, Hendrix and Harlow; daughter-in-law, Joyce; grandsons, Trevor and Kevin (Jaclyn); grandson, Murray (Debbie); great-granddaughters, Ashley (Jim), Kristyn (Mark) and Amber; and great-great-grandchildren, Landon, Malaiya, Gabriella and Chloe. She was predeceased by her son, Peter in 2004, and husband, John in 2006. Anna was born in Ukraine, coming to Canada in the early 1950s in search of a better life. Surviving the reign of both Stalin and Hitler, Anna's fighting spirit was evident in all she did. For many years, Anna worked slinging meat at Manitoba Sausage making her capable of defeating her grandsons at arm wrestling well into their teens. She remained physically fit and active into her 89th year, putting those 20 years her junior to shame. Anna was unapologetic in who she was; her lightning fast wit and razor sharp tongue are things we will dearly miss. She was a little lady with a big personality, infectious laugh, and memory like a steel trap. At Anna's request a private family service will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Anna's memory to the Children's Wish Foundation, 350 St. Mary Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J2. Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB in care of arrangements 204.897.4665. For those who wish to sign Wojcik's online Guest Book please visit our website at www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com Say "hi" to Grandpa and "tag, you're it!" to Peter. Trust us, he'll know what that means.

Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • Christmas Eve at grandma and grandpa’s will always be a cherished memory. We talk about you all the time; but Christmas Eve at your house will always be the most magical memories I’ve ever had. I miss them; and miss you. I love going through old photos and videos; I’m so thankful I captured so many. I have an audio clip of you saying happy birthday that I send to family members every year, and it’s like you are there with us. We all miss you so fiercely. Love you always. - Posted by: Lisa (Granddaughter ) on: Dec 24, 2024

  • Just sitting watching them good for nothing jets same old same old just thinking about you and grandpa!! - Posted by: MURRAY JOHNSON (Grandson ) on: Feb 25, 2024

  • It’s been 5 years since you’ve been gone. It doesn’t seem like much time at all. I still hear your voice in my head from time to time. I won’t forget the days of when me and amber would constantly sleep over; wake up to potato pancakes and tea. Playing cards at the table. Walking to 7-11 just for slurpees. I’ve taken a lot of things for granted in my life, not realizing how much time was wasted. You were the one who kept our family strong and together. I miss you very much. I wish I made better decisions in life and spent more of it with family. I love you very much. - Posted by: Kristyn (Great great Granddaughter ) on: Apr 25, 2020
