JERRY BASS Jerry Bass passed away on August 16, 2015 suddenly and unexpectedly. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Rhona Bass (nee Watt) and by his parents Marion and Teddy Bass. He will be forever loved and remembered by his children Marisa Hochman, Celene Bass, Miles Bass, his son-in-law David Hochman, and his grandchildren Lev, Nathan and Naomi Hochman, Shai and Jessica Bass. Jerry was a devoted son, husband and father. He was also a lifelong learner with many varied pursuits and interests, including efforts in teaching and publishing, and hobbies such as collecting and restoring antiques. Later in life he developed the amazing ability to conquer the world of technological gadgets. He was in many of these things completely self-taught. Dad was truly a family man. Family (our immediate little nuclear family) was everything to him. Everything he did was for us - he gave us everything he had to give. He took care of us all and always and will live in our hearts forever. A funeral service was held at the Etz Chayim Synagogue on Monday, August 17, 2015. Donations can be made to the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg PJ Library Fund, (204) 480-7559.

Jerry and I were neighbourhood friends, and schoolmates. We had so much fun together, playing school as kids. We had the whole basement set up as a school, and he was always the principal. Jerry made 'desks' of flat cardboard with heads that stood up! We had both boys and girls. This was something we loved to do in the summer! Our dads had been childhood friends, playing on the same sports teams. We lived on Smithfield, and enjoying growing up with a lot of friends from the street. Those were the days! I am sure Jerry would have been a great dad, and will be truly missed. I am sorry we didn't keep in touch.... - Posted by: Andrea McDonald Bradie (friend) on: Sep 13, 2015
