ROSSLYN LOUISE RICHARDS (nee SOLOMON) "All the world's a stage. And all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances." (As You Like It: Act 2, Scene 7). Rosslyn's love of the theatre (and Shakespeare) encompassed her life and she would appreciate starting her final scene in this manner. She passed this love of theatre and performing to many in our family who will carry on her tradition for years to come. Rosslyn Louise Richards (née Solomon) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 2:46 p.m. with "The White Cliffs of Dover" playing in the background after a wonderful life of 82 years. Rosslyn was a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be sadly missed by her children Laurie Fischer (Cathie), Bob Fischer, Tamara Fischer Bird and Jonathon Fischer (Christine), eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She will be very much missed by her grand dog, Rhett. She is, also, survived by her sister, Lorna Hindle and two nephews, Steven and Michael Bluestone. She was born on October 5, 1932 and had a life filled with family, children and adventure. Her love of theatre, sports and travel defined who she was throughout her life. She was an outstanding actress, tennis and bridge player. During the Second World War, she worked at the Overseas League in London and loved having lunch every day in the shadow of Trafalgar Square. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. William Richards in 2010. At her request, Rosslyn has been cremated. There will be a Private family "Celebration of her Life" on her birthday, Monday, October 5, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at River Ridge Retirement Residence (by invitation) Special thanks to the staff at Kildonan Personal Care Home who kept her comfortable during the last months of her life.
