JOSE ANTONIA SILVA Jose (Joe) Antonia Silva passed away suddenly on September 5, 2015. He was 50 years young. Words cannot express the feelings, pains or emotions of losing a loved one. He leaves to mourn his spouse Karen Brotzel; daughter Jessica Brotzel Silva; father Jose F. Silva; mother Maria Sackman; brother Frank and sister Lucia as well as nieces, grandnephew, aunts, uncles and cousins here in Winnipeg and the Azores and many good friends. Joe was born in Winnipeg on December 2, 1964. He attended Victoria Albert, West St. Paul, Maples and R.R.C.C., where he studied drafting. Joe was adventurous. He loved travelling, hunting, spear fishing, working out, gardening, picking mushrooms in the spring, chilling at the beach, politics, current events and controversial movies and books. For 32 years and right up until January 2015 when his health began to fail him, Joe was employed with the Canadian National Railway. He fought to regain his health but when it was discovered months later that he had been misdiagnosed, the devastation was unbelievable; but Joe, being Joe, continued the fight of his life for his life. The courage, strength and humility that Joe possessed right up until his last breath, truly showed the man he was, someone you can be proud to call your own. Peace and love to be always with you Joe and you will be in our hearts forever and ever. Memorial service will be celebrated on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 1:00 p.m., Bardal Funeral Chapel, 843 Sherbrook Street. Interment to follow at a later date.
